On October 17, 2024, the 3rd Meeting of the ECO Working Group on Civil Aviation was held virtually by the ECO Secretariat. The meeting brought together representatives from ECO Member States and the ECO delegation led by Mr. Akbar Khodaei, Director of the Directorate for Transport and Communications.
The meeting extensively deliberated on various topics, including the progress on civil aviation cooperation in the ECO Region, the establishment of a “Regional Framework Agreement on Civil Aviation,” the progress report on the establishment of ECO Air Hubs at Samarkand and Gabala Airports, and cooperation in the training and advanced education of inspectors from aviation authorities and specialists in the civil aviation industry.
The meeting further underscored the collective commitment of ECO Member States to enhance civil aviation cooperation, improve regional connectivity, and build a robust framework for future collaboration. The outcomes of this meeting are expected to pave the way for significant advancements in civil aviation, ultimately benefiting the economies and communities within the ECO region.
