On June 7, H.E.Mr.Khusrav Noziri, ECO Secretary General met with H.E.Mr. Zhang Ming, SCO Secretary General in the sidelines of 2nd Dushanbe Water Conference.
The sides reaffirmed continued interest to strengthen relations bearing in mind they share common members and the areas to enhance cooperation in the region.
Fields such as trade and transport have been especially pinpointed as possible directions to cooperate within intra-regional framework.
Taking into the consideration that it has been passed over 10 years from existing memorandum of understanding on partnership between two organizations, as well as the need to meet aspiration of future comprehensive cooperation, the sides agreed to study expansion of ties within updated framework.
To spearhead developments in both organizations, Secretary Generals exchanged with invitations to visit each other’s Secretariats.
