A virtual training course titled Fight against corruption was held on October 7, 2024, organized by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The representatives from the Republic of Azerbaijan, Islamic Republic of Iran, Republic of Kazakhstan, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan as well as representatives from the ECO Secretariat headed by Deputy Secretary General Ambassador Jandos Asanov participated in the course.
In his opening remarks Ambassador Asanov appreciated NAB of Pakistan for organizing the event. He highlighted Pakistan’s valuable role in fostering regional anti-corruption cooperation in the ECO area.
The training course covered several key topics, including: i) Modern Techniques of Investigation of White Collar Crimes and Money Laundering – Presented by Mr. Irfan Naeem Mangi, Director General of the Training and Research Division of NAB, ii) Criminalization and Prosecution of White Collar Crime and Recovery of Illegally Obtained Assets – delivered by Mufti Abdul Haq, Additional Director of NAB and iii) Use of Digital Forensics and Open Source Intelligence – presented by experts including Mr. Hasnat Rasool, Director of Forensic NAB, Mr. Nasim Ahmed, Deputy Director of Questioned Documents and Ms. Sadia, Deputy Director of OSINT NAB.
During the event the host comprehensively highlighted collaborative efforts in addressing corruption across the region. The training course aimed to enhance the skills and knowledge of participants in effectively tackling corruption.
