On November 8, 2022, Head of the International Economic Cooperation Section of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan H.E. Mr. Silapberdi Nurberdiev along with Ambassador of Turkmenistan in the Islamic Republic of Iran H.E. Mr. Ahmed Gurbanov visited ECO Secretary General Ambassador Khusrav Noziri in connection with the preparations for the upcoming Meeting of ECO Council of Ministers (COM), as well as to discuss possible areas of cooperation between ECO and Turkmenistan.
In the meeting, Mr. Silapberdi Nurberdiev highlighted the importance attached by Turkmenistan to ECO as a partner international organization. He also stressed that, among other issues, enhancement of cooperation in the regional transport and energy sectors would remain a priority for Turkmenistan.
While expressing his pleasure to receive the visiting delegation, the ECO Secretary General briefed on the status of preparations being made to organize the next Meeting of the COM in Tashkent. Moreover, Ambassador Noziri acknowledged the role and contribution of Turkmenistan to further develop and facilitate the agenda of the ECO during country’s Chairmanship of the Organization in 2021.
