On 11 December 2024, The Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), in collaboration with the Transportation Data Analytics Center of the Iran University of Science and Technology, conducted a virtual workshop on the “Application of Big Data in Transportation Management and Planning.”
The event brought together experts, professionals, and stakeholders from across the region to explore the transformative role of Big Data in addressing modern transportation challenges.
Participants from ECO member states have been presented with the best practices, case studies and the latest advancements in Big Data applications. The event highlighted the growing importance of leveraging vast and diverse data sources to optimize transportation networks, reduce congestion, and promote sustainable mobility solutions.
The collaborative initiative demonstrated ECO’s commitment to fostering regional cooperation and capacity-building in transportation management. It also emphasized the role of academic and technical institutions in driving innovation and knowledge-sharing to address global mobility challenges.
