This year’s theme, “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation,” is a timely reminder of the sector’s profound potential to drive inclusive, resilient, and sustainable development.

As the world continues to face global challenges, this day underscores the need to move beyond mere growth metrics and toward a model of tourism that prioritizes good governance, strategic planning, and measurable sustainability outcomes.
ECO remains firmly committed to advancing tourism cooperation among its Member States, as outlined in the region’s strategic vision. Initiatives such as the ECO Tourism Capitals, the ECO Tour Operators Network, the ECO Tourism Investment Guide, the ECO Tourism Educational Network and Ministerial Gatherings on Tourism highlight ECO’s resolve to support the tourism sector’s sustainable transformation.
On this World Tourism Day, the ECO Secretariat reaffirms its dedication to fostering collaboration that places sustainability, resilience, and social equity at the heart of tourism development. We call upon all stakeholders—public, private, and civil society—to work together in unlocking tourism’s full potential as a catalyst for a better future for all.
